Pregnancy Chiropractic in Kitchener

While an exciting life-changing time for many women, pregnancy is also accompanied by various aches and pains and posture changes. Because it’s not recommended that pregnant women take medication due to potentially dangerous side effects, chiropractic is a natural way to address pregnancy-related discomfort.

Chiropractic during pregnancy also plays a vital role in helping pregnant women have a healthier pregnancy. That’s because chiropractic can help you have a stronger immune system which can, in turn, allow your baby to have a robust immune system as well.

Dr. Aaron adjusting pregnant woman's belly

Dr. Aaron and Dr. Ryan are both certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). According to the ICPA website, “The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment.

The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/SI joint dysfunction. In doing so, neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is facilitated.”

The Webster Technique is often used when a baby is in the breech position. We have Thompson tables in our rooms that are ideal when Webster is used.

Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?

Yes, chiropractic has been shown to very safe during pregnancy. We reassure pregnant women that it is completely percent safe from the day they’re pregnant up to the day they deliver. Our adjustments are also very gentle. You wouldn’t be adjusted the same way as a non-pregnant person would.
Can chiropractic help improve labor?

According to considerable research, women under chiropractic care throughout their pregnancy have better labors. Why? Chiropractic care prepares the mother’s body for giving birth by making sure the joints and spine are in proper alignment.
Does chiropractic improve the birth process?

Yes, it can. That’s because when everything is lined up and functioning properly it does allow an optimal environment for delivery. Chiropractic also may help your baby get into the proper birthing position.
How often should I come in during pregnancy?

It varies case per case. A lot of practice members who are pregnant are under wellness care, so they’re coming in every two weeks. Then once we get closer to delivery, we’ll probably increase the frequency a little bit more.
I'm in my third trimester. Can I still benefit from starting chiropractic care?

We believe that pregnant women can benefit from chiropractic at every stage of pregnancy.
Do you feature special tables and pregnancy pillows?

Yes, our tables allow the mom-to-be to lie on her stomach comfortably and the pillows provide extra comfort as the mom’s belly expands throughout pregnancy.
How can the baby benefit from Mom being under care?

By making sure that her body is functioning at her optimal level her unborn child also can grow and function optimally.
Should I come in for chiropractic care post-pregnancy?

We recommend it. That’s because the benefits of chiropractic extend into the postpartum period. Betting adjusted after delivering your baby will allow your body to recover quicker from the delivery process.

The choice, however, is always yours. If you choose to come in after you’ve given birth, we not only can adjust you but your newborn as well.
